current projects
i am currently involved with the king bladud’s pigs in bath project, for which i have decorated two pigs to go out on the streets of bath.
bath abbey has sponsored me to work with their young people to produce abi, which is stnading outside the south wall of the abbey.
king bladud has asked me to decorate ziggy piggy, sponsored by buro happold for over the entrance to their offices in bath.
this is part of a summer 2008 public art event designed to involve local businesses in the arts, give local artists a showcase for their work and ideas and provide some fun for both visitors and the people who live here - who will become tourists in their own city!
one hundred individually decorated life-size pig sculptures will be displayed throughout the summer all around bath - to celebrate the legend of king bladud who together with his pigs discovered our hot springs and went on to found the city of bath.
each pig will be sponsored. each sponsor will select an artist to transform the blank "3D canvas" of a pig sculpture, made of reinforced fibreglass, into a work of art. the sculptures will first appear in the streets of bath in april, staying until september. In october the pigs will be sold via a grand auction.
Net revenues after costs from the event will be donated to the charity Sustrans for use specifically to help deliver the two tunnels project (see www.twotunnels.org.uk).
